Swathe Airborne Surveys Ltd has brought together aviation services, equipment manufacturers and ten years hands on experience of LiDAR bathymetric surveying to provide a unique and cost effective solution to our clients allowing them to expand their operations into new and otherwise inaccessible areas of marine survey.

LiDAR bathymetry is widely recognized as being the most cost efficient and effective way of carrying out detailed bathymetric surveys in shallow water, reefs and complex coastal zones.

Applications:

  • Shallow water and complex coastal zones including reefs
  • Environmental assessment of Coral reefs and marine parks (especially if combined with other sensors such as Hyperspectral)
  • Ports and Harbours
  • Monitoring of coastal erosion and movement
  • Pre and post near shore construction and development
  • Coastal inlets
  • Large shallow water area survey for sub -sea construction including wind farms, cable lays and pipelines.

Swathe Airborne Surveys Ltd is uniquely placed to offer support to potential users of the Hawkeye II Bathymetric LiDAR system. This is the only Bathymetric LiDAR system available for rental in the world, thus enabling survey companies and customers to carry out their own surveys without the need for massive capital investment in their own system. The availability of a Bathymetric LiDAR system for short term rent, combined with Swathe Airborne Surveys support, makes Bathymetric LiDAR surveying even more flexible and cost effective. Typical production rates that can be achieved are of the order of 50-100 square KM with two flights (or sorties) per day.

Testimonial

Swathe Services assisted us (Falmouth Divers Ltd) on a 4km submarine power cable installation on behalf of Western Power Distribution. The scope of survey work included the pre-lay survey & route selection for the installation of a power cable from Tenby (South Wales) to Caldey Island. On completion, an excellent as laid cable survey report was produced complete with a suite of drawings presented to a very high quality. We were very pleased with the professional & flexible attitude of the Swathe Services site personnel & equally with the consultation & advice provided early in the project that allowed Falmouth Divers Ltd to offer a full turn-key package to our Client.
