Sound velocity profilers and real time sensors

The Monitor SVP has been developed from Valeport's world leading Midas Sound Velocity Profilers, utilising the exceptional digital time of flight sound velocity sensor and synchronised sampling technique, but packaged as a smaller, lightweight unit to suit small boat or shallow water applications.

Tech Specification

Valeport’s MiniSVP is a new compact Sound Velocity Profiler. Featuring Valeport's unique acclaimed "time of flight" SV sensor, the miniSVP is available in either 500m rated acetal or 6000m rated titanium versions. A single C cell and large Flash memory allow hundreds of profiles to be recorded, and the pre-programmed profiling patterns allow it to be setup and deployed quickly and easily.

Tech Specification

The Valeport miniSVS Sound Velocity Sensors use state of the art digital "time of flight" technology to provide the lowest noise, highest accuracy, best resolution sound velocity data available. Small size and a choice of sensor lengths down to just 25mm make the sensor suitable for a variety of applications.

Tide gauges

The Valeport 740 is a small Tide Gauge (water level recorder), specifically designed for applications where the user simply requires an accurate record of water height. The titanium housed vented pressure transducer is connected via a 20m cable to an above surface battery powered logger. The logger is powered by 4 "D" type cells, which, together with the 128kbyte memory allows operation for over 900 days at a 20 minute cycle with 10 second bursts. The burst length, cycle time, delay start time and site information is set using the PC software supplied. This software also allows the battery voltage to be checked, the time and date to be set and the recorded data to be extracted in a spreadsheet compatible format.

Software

QINSy is a suite of hydrographic applications that cover a whole range of activities, from data acquisition to chart production. Whether it is for dredging, multibeam bathymetry, oceanographic research, site surveys, rig moves, marine construction support, pipeline/cable lay or ROV inspection, QINSy offers efficiency and reliability. Its modular design and inherent flexibility makes QINSy perfect for a wide variety of applications:

  • Hydrographic and Oceanographic Surveys
  • Offshore Pipeline Inspection and Pipe-laying
  • Dredging and Marine Construction including Offshore Oil and Gas
  • ROV and AUV Tracking and Data Collection
  • Barge, Tug and Fleet Management
  • Chart and ENC Production
  • Laser Scanning

Qloud, the latest software offering from QPS, is an offline tool that is fully integrated with QINSy. It is a post processing tool and available as a stand-alone package. This software handles extremely large data sets and performs statistically-based data cleaning using parameters such as Total Propagated Error (TPE), IHO S-44 guidelines, the CUBE algorithms (UNH), and the Least Square Statistical Spline Method.

Qloud imports DTM points from QINSy QPD files, (includes multiple data attribute flags generated in QINSy), or from any third party point files, with or without attributes and metadata. The moment the data is loaded into Qloud, the survey is viewed as a single cloud of data points, presented in the full geographical context of ENCs and GeoTIFF imagery.

Automatic data cleaning tools using Clips, Area Spline filters and CUBE, are applied to the entire survey at once, or sequentially to selected sections. Where centre and outer beams overlap, TPE values are used to correctly weight each data point. A full complement of manual editing tools is also available.

HYPACK® provides all of the tools necessary to complete your hydrographic, side scan and magnetometer survey requirements. With over 4,000 users around the world, HYPACK® provides you with the tools necessary to meet almost any hydrographic survey requirement. It provides tools to design your survey, collect your data, apply corrections to soundings, remove outliers, plot field sheets, export data to CAD, compute volume quantities, generate contours, create side scan mosaics and create/modify electronic charts.

GeoSwath Plus is a suite of software which covers full data acquisition, calibration, processing and DTM production of interferometric data. It is used primarily with the GeoSwath Swath Bathymetry System and is geared at handling huge amounts of bathymetric data points.
